5/27 - Rangers (14-39) @ Rays (37-15): Game 2

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays have dropped game two of this series against the Rangers in a long extra innings game. The Rangers scored first in the first on a Michael Young RBI double scoring Ian Kinsler from second, but the Rays came back in the bottom of the inning with a Carlos Pena RBI triple scoring Akinori Iwamura and B.J. Upton, followed by an RBI double by Carl Crawford scoring Carlos Pena. The Rangers tied it up in the fifth when Ian Kinsler hit an RBI triple scoring Gerald Laird and Ben Broussard, and taking the lead on a Michael Young RBI single scoring Ian Kinsler, but the Rays tied it up in the bottom of the ininng on a solo bomb by Carlos Pena, and took the lead in the sixth on a Carl Crawford solo homer. With the bases loaded in the top of the ninth, and Troy Percival trying to close it out, Gerald Laird hit an RBI single scoring Ramon Vazquez. The game went into extras, and in the fourteenth inning, Ian Kinsler jacked a two-run homer scoring Ben Broussard, completing his cycle for the day, going 5-7 and knocking in four. Rays starting pitcher Matt Garza pitched eight innings giving up four runs on ten hits and only one strikeout, taking a no decision. J.P. Howell pitched a majority of the extra innings, pitching from the start of the tenth to the fourteenth giving up no runs until the Ian Kinsler homer, and takes the loss in this one.
