ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays have won game one in a three game series against the Red Sox at home with a comeback walk-off victory. The Rays scored first in the second with a Rocco Baldelli RBI single, but Mike Lowell tied it up in the fourth with a solo homer. The Rays scored two in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single by Dioner Navarro, and an RBI triple off the bat of Rocco Baldelli to take a two-run lead, but the Red Sox stormed back in the fifth with four runs. J.D Drew belted a two-run single, David Ortiz got an RBI double, and Mike Lowell hit an RBI single to take the lead. The Rays tied it up again in the bottom of the inning when B.J. Upton and Evan Longoria both jacked solo homers. The Red Sox broke the tie in the seventh with Jason Varitek hitting an RBI double followed by Kevin Youkilis with an RBI single. The Rays narrowed the lead to one in the eighth with a sacrifice groundout by Dioner Navarro. The odd part about this play was that Carl Crawford was on second, and managed to come all the way around to score. Then, in the ninth inning with B.J. Upton on first, Carlos Pena jacked a walk-off two-run homer to center to give the Rays the win they needed.
