4/17 - Twins Win on Close Call

The Twins won the final game of this two game set in Minnesota on a close call at first base in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs in the bottom of the tenth in a scoreless tie, Jason Kubel on third, and Adan Everett at the plate, Everett hit one up the middle. Bartlett barely got to it, threw it to first, and on a very close play, Everett was called safe as Kubel crossed home plate for the victory. Rays starter James Shields pitched a complete game, giving up the only run of the game on eight hits and striking out three. Twins starter Nick Blackburn as well pitched a complete game, but he just barely edged out Shields, and getting a complete game shutout.
