4/23 - Extra Inning Showdown Ends in Rays Loss

The Rays have lost game two of this three game series against the Blue Jays today. The Rays got the scoring started in the bottom of the first with an RBI single hit by Evan Longoria taking a one run lead, but the Jays powered back with four runs in the top of the fourth. The Rays scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth narrowing it down to a one run game, and then in the sixth, B.J. Upton tied it up with a solo shot. Still tied in the eleventh inning, the Blue Jays scored two more runs. The Rays tried to come back in the bottom of the inning leading off with Jonny Gomes' first homer of the season, but they just couldn't do it. Rays starter Scott Kazmir pitched eight innings giving up four runs on twelve hits and one strikeout.

Rays: 5
